    • Timothy Eugene "Tim" Scott is the junior United States Senator for South Carolina and a former member of the United States House of Representatives for South Carolina's 1st congressional district. A Republican, he became a senator in 2013 after South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley named him to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Jim DeMint. He was elected to the House in November 2010 to the 112th Congress and served from 2011 to 2013.
